Steve Sumner Attorney

Steve W. Summer

Steve graduated from the USC School of Law in 1992. As a student, he was named to the “Order of the Wig and Robe” for superior academic achievement. Additionally, Steve was part of the “Mock Trial Competition” winning team at USC, which represented USC in the southeastern regional of the national competition.

Steve served as a state court prosecutor from 1992 to 1994. His primary case load consisted of prosecuting DUI, Felony DUI, Reckless Homicide, and Traffic Offenses.

Since opening his own practice as a criminal defense attorney in 1997, Steve has been
recognized both nationally and locally for his work in defending clients accused of DUI,
Felony DUI, all driving offenses, and drug cases (see Professional Affiliations below).

Steve currently represents clients in over 25 courts in Upstate South Carolina including Greenville, Anderson, Pickens, Oconee, Spartanburg, Laurens, and Greenwood Counties.

Erica M. Soderdahl Attorney

Erica M. Soderdahl

A native of Chicago, Erica graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2004. During her studies at the University of Michigan, Erica was selected to work on special projects as a Research Assistant for two professors who are well known in the field of Criminal Law: Professor Yale Kamisar, researching the evolution of the Miranda decision regarding a suspect’s right to counsel during interrogation, and Professor Samuel Gross, researching death penalty cases in cooperation with the Innocence Project.

After graduation, Erica moved to Chicago, where she practiced family law for a year and criminal defense for almost ten years.

Erica moved to Upstate South Carolina in 2014 and joined Steve as an Associate in 2015.

Jessica Antonucci Legal Assistant

Jessica Antonucci

Jessica joined our firm in 2010 after working as a court reporter for fifteen years. Jessica handles all scheduling and is the initial liaison with the courts and SCDMV. She transcribes the firm’s dictation, hearings, depositions, and audio files. Jessica maintains the backbone of our caseload and is a vital part of our team.

Hilary Loftis Legal Assistant

Hilary Loftis

A recent addition to our team, Hilary joined us in 2015. She is a 2008 Clemson graduate with a BS in Management and also holds a Property Managers License from the Wyatt Institute in Greenville.

Hilary is your first point of contact with our firm, providing both legal and administrative support. She will answer your calls, furnish whatever information you might need for your case, schedules appointments, and processes payments.
